Heredia denies allegations that International Airport for Ambergris Caye has been approved
An article published on Thursday, June 14th in the Mexican newspaper Diario de Quintana Roo claims that Luis Gilberto Montero Maldonado, Honorary Consul of Belize in Chetumal, Mexico has confirmed the approval for the construction of the international airport in northern Ambergris Caye. The next stop now, according to the article, is to establish a date when works would commence.

After Standard Six students sat through two days of intense Primary School Examinations , the Ministry of Education released results on Thursday, June 8th. This year, a total of 7,271 Standard Six students sat the PSE countrywide on March 18th and May 4th, testing their knowledge in the four major subjects of Mathematics, English, Science, and Social Studies.

A total of 102 students received their high school diplomas at the 2018 San Pedro High School graduation ceremonies held at the Angel Nunez Auditorium on Saturday, June 9th at 5PM. Rights group in Belize questions decision to charge minor
BELMOPAN, Belize, CMC - The National Committee for Families and Children is condemning the recent report of a 13-year-old minor being criminally charged for alleged possession of a firearm in the absence of his parents, a Community Rehabilitation Officer or a Justice of the Peace. The association said in a statement that the child was charged while being treated for a gunshot wound in a local hospital.

2018 PSE results are out; Bryan Joan Roca of SPRCS is in the Top 25 countrywide
The Primary School Examination results for 2018 are out, and one student on Ambergris Caye did exceptionally well, placing in the top 25 performances across the country. Bryan Joan Roca, a student at San Pedro Roman Catholic School, scored 368 total points out of 400, landing him in the #14 spot countrywide.

The Belize Agricultural Health Authority informs the public, particularly cattle producers, that paralytic rabies continues to affect cattle in the Cayo, Orange Walk and Belize Districts. The disease is known to be transmitted by the vampire bat.
